The Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB launches a repair service for pupils. Pupils collectively cycle about 1.3 billion kilometres yearly. According to the ANWB, punctured wheels and broken bike chains are very common problems.

The Touring Club has already been offering its cycling members a repair service for some time. With a supplementary membership for children at the rate of 5 Euros per year, one can thus insure them against breakdowns on their way to school. The ANWB thinks that their service can be useful, especially in areas requiring longer distance cycling. After a call, the breakdown service will hasten to where the breakdown has occurred in order to repair the bike and ensure that the child reaches school, with or without the bike. Contact is maintained with the ANWB Alarm Centre so that parents can follow the progress of the assistance being given to their child
