Bicycle manufacturer Accell Nederland is planning to set up De Fietser (The Cyclist), a new ‘experience centre’ for bicycles. For Accell, the objective of the centre is to provide an extra boost to the bicycle industry, and thus to strengthen the position of its brands: Batavus, KOGA, Van Nicholas, Sparta, Juncker, XLC, Lapierre, Ghost, Haibike and Loekie.

According to Accell, De Fietser will be THE place in the Netherlands to experience and test bikes. De Fietser, with a surface of 10,000 square metres, will house the longest indoor test track, measuring almost half a kilometre. There will be a theme square for the visitor to discover e-bikes, a bike rental to test nature trails, and brand stores for all participating brands.

De Fietser will also house a museum dedicated to the rich history of cycling in the Netherlands. De Fietser aims to open in the summer of 2015 and expects to welcome 100,000 visitors per year.
