Eindhoven gets the first interactive cycling path in the Netherlands. The bicycle path incorporates sustainable technologies and responds to the environment and the cyclist.

That is, at any rate, the plan as will be presented shortly by the Eindhoven municipality, the contractor Heijmans, and the Studio Roosegaarde. About 600 metres of bicycle path will get an “interactive design” makeover in which the story of Vincent van Gogh in Brabant constitutes an important part of the development.
Roosegaarde previously stood at the inception of the Smart Highway Project that proposed plans to embed onto the road surface automatically illuminating road markings and automatic signaling of slipperiness. The first designs for the bicycle path are already under way.
