I would like to point out that another disadvantage of this type of stand is that it provides a temptation for Children to play on it. Some owners of expensive Bikes may not like to lean their paintwork against the tubing. I prefer the tall & narrow variety — which enables the Bike to be parked using the seat and pedal...the frame doesn't need to contact the stand at all.
