There is another way: Tilburg municipal council decided to raise the bar when it adopted its bicycle plan (increase bicycle use). For this purpose, an intensification of the bicycle plan was developed.

Tilburg wants to increase the percentage of bicycle traffic up to 7.5 km from 34% to 38% in 2010 and then maintain the percentage of bicycle traffic at the same level. It is also striving for a 10% increase in bicycle traffic on the Sternet bicycle routes in 2015 compared with 2002. This was initially 5%.
