No more breakdowns for commuter cyclists

In the Utrecht region a breakdown service has been initiated for commuting cyclists, in cooperation with a taxi firm and local bike dealers.

All cycling employees of 16 major firms in and near Amersfoort participating in a campaign to promote commuting by bicycle, may use the breakdown service. When their bicycle breaks down they call an emergency number on the pass provided after free registration. A replacement bicycle will be provided and the taxi firm brings the broken-down bicycle to a bike dealer, free of charge. Once the bicycle has been repaired, the owner rides the loaned bicycle to the bike dealer and receives his own repaired bicycle in return. It is also possible to be dropped off at home or at work with the bicycle and be provided with a loan bicycle.
