Since 2006 a system has been installed on the Salzburgerlokalbahn at road crossing points, and in 2007 it was installed in a more stressful location, the road & rail bridges in the Port of Hamburg. The original inserts are still in use near Salzburg with line speeds typically 80Km/h (the units are now approved for higher speeds) but the inserts have to be replaced every few years at high stress points in Hamburg where the rail (freight) wheels are less uniform, and the high forces transmi
