Establishing this institute in Drachten is therefore a natural conclusion, according to town authorities, who also see this institute as a welcome reinforcement of high-quality employment. Initially eleven full-time positions are envisaged. By 2011 this number will have grown to approximately 20 overall. The town council has proposed to provide € 250.000,- overall for 2009 and 2010 as its contribution to the start-up costs of this institute. The institute will be mainly aimed at research and development activities.
